Grief Group

In grief, we need to tell our story and we need safe people and spaces to do so. After the loss of a child, we know it can feel lonely, dark and scary. The complex nature of grief demands gentle and compassionate support. Grief deserves to be witnessed and over the years, we have seen tremendous healing happen through shared experiences.

Grief is a lonely experience but you don't have to do it alone. We will hold a safe space for you as you journey through your grief . We have a small grief group that meets the third Monday of the month at the Healing Hope Retreat Center at 30185 475th Ave, Alcester, SD from 6:30-8:30pm. Painted Prayer Workshops

During a Painted Prayers Workshop, we use art as a form of prayer to connect with God and those around us. Things to know: 🎨 If you are not an “artist” this is still for you. I promise it will be worth your time. This is not paint by number. (hint: very little is about the paint!) 🎨 There is no cost. Everything is done by donation only. The path has already been paved for you to attend by previous groups. 🎨 Even if you are unsure about the whole thing, come for the conversation. ❤️ All adults are welcome to come to this event, however we ask that you RSVP as seating is limited to 6-8. Campfire & Conversations

Our Campfire and Conversation evenings are hosted around our firepit at our retreat center. During this time, we invite the grieving community to come as they are for warm conversation around the fire. For specific dates, check out our Event Calendar.
